Palm Sunday is just one week before Easter.

Palm Sunday is called “Domenica delle Palme ” in Italy.

On Palm Sunday people take palm and olive branches to church to be blessed.

When everyone is in the church , the doors are closed to represent the gates of Jerusalem. The priests knock three times and the gates are then opened in welcome, so they enter with joyous music and the waving of palms. This is done to commemorate Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem.

In the past the palms were sometimes spread over the fields for good luck

We would love to see some photos of that ceremony. Did you take any? It must be really nice to participate in it.
